Thailand Package Forwarding vs Proxy Buying
Updated August 2026 · Reviewed by ThaiFanShip Operations
Package forwarding gives you a Thai delivery address for orders you place and pay for yourself. Proxy buying—called Buy For Me at ThaiFanShip—adds a local team that places the order and pays the Thai seller after you approve a quote. Both services can end at the same Bangkok warehouse, where parcels are received, stored, consolidated, and shipped worldwide.
What is Thailand package forwarding?
After creating an account, you receive a personal ThaiFanShip ID and Bangkok warehouse address. You shop directly with the Thai store, enter that address at checkout, and pay the store yourself. The warehouse receives the parcel and adds it to your account for international shipping.
Forwarding solves the address and international-delivery problem. It does not solve a rejected card, PromptPay-only seller, Thai-only conversation, or a checkout you cannot complete.
What is proxy buying or Buy For Me?
You send ThaiFanShip the product link and exact order instructions. The team reviews the request and quotes the item price, domestic delivery, and proxy fee. After you approve and pay, the team purchases from the seller on your behalf and receives the order at the warehouse.
Proxy buying solves local payment and transaction support. The purchase must still be legal, sufficiently verifiable, available, and accepted by ThaiFanShip.
Which service should you use?
Choose based on the obstacle at checkout—not simply the store name.
| Your situation | Package forwarding | Buy For Me |
|---|---|---|
| You can pay the Thai store yourself | Best choice | Usually unnecessary |
| The store needs only a Thai address | Best choice | Usually unnecessary |
| Your card is rejected | Does not fix payment | Best choice |
| Seller accepts PromptPay or Thai transfer only | Not enough | Best choice after review |
| Order is handled through Instagram, X, LINE, or DM | Works only if you manage and pay | Best when local help is needed |
| You need Thai-language communication | You communicate with seller | ThaiFanShip handles transaction details |
| You want to combine several shops | Yes | Yes |
| You want full control of checkout | Best choice | ThaiFanShip places the order |
Forwarding vs proxy buying FAQ
Is proxy buying the same as package forwarding?
No. Forwarding begins after you buy the item and send it to the warehouse. Proxy buying begins before purchase because the proxy orders and pays the seller on your behalf.
Can I use both services in one account?
Yes. You can send self-purchased parcels to your Thai address and also submit Buy For Me orders. Eligible parcels can later be selected for one consolidation request.
Which option is cheaper?
Forwarding avoids the proxy fee, so it is normally cheaper when you can complete checkout yourself. Buy For Me adds a 5% service fee with the applicable minimum and cap shown on the pricing page.
Does Buy For Me guarantee the seller or product?
No. ThaiFanShip reviews whether a request can be handled and documents items received, but cannot guarantee claims, authenticity, future delivery, or refunds from an independent seller.
Do both options include storage and consolidation?
Yes. Once parcels arrive and are matched to your ThaiFanShip account, the same warehouse storage, photo-request, consolidation, quote, payment, and outbound tracking flow applies.
Ready to buy from Thailand?
Create one account for both options: use your free Bangkok address when you can pay, or submit Buy For Me when you need local help.
