How to Buy Thai Novels & Books from Overseas
Updated October 2026 · Reviewed by ThaiFanShip Operations
Readers abroad order Thai books for many reasons: Thai-language novels, Thai editions of translated web novels they follow, BL novels behind series they have watched, and special editions that come with standees, cards and box sets never sold outside Thailand. Most Thai publishers sell through their own websites and Thai marketplaces with domestic delivery. This guide covers where to buy, pre-orders, and how to post books without bent corners or a painful shipping bill.
Where Thai books are sold
- Publishers' own web shops, such as Jamsai, one of Thailand's largest publishers of romance and young-adult fiction, and Caihong Novels, which publishes Thai editions of translated novels
- Book fairs and publisher booths, where special editions and event-only gifts often appear first
- Publisher and bookshop stores on Shopee, Lazada and LINE Shopping
- Independent authors and small presses selling by pre-order through social media
Option 1: order yourself and ship to your Thai address
- 1Create a ThaiFanShip account and copy your Bangkok warehouse address and ThaiFanShip ID.
- 2Order from the publisher or shop and use that address for delivery.
- 3Register the incoming parcel in your dashboard, with the title or ISBN if you have it.
- 4Wait for other volumes or pre-orders if you wish, then consolidate and ship.
Option 2: Buy For Me
- 1Send the product link, or the title and ISBN, the edition (regular, special, box set) and quantity.
- 2We quote the price, domestic delivery and our fee before buying.
- 3Pay the quote; our Thai team orders, including from shops that take only Thai payment or orders by chat.
- 4The books arrive at our warehouse and can be photographed before shipping.
Special editions often sell by pre-order with a fixed deadline. Send the link well before it closes.
Special editions and pre-order gifts
Limited editions come with extras: standees, postcards, bookmarks, art cards, slipcases. Check the listing for what is included, and keep a screenshot. Pre-orders can take weeks or months to print; each parcel's 45 days of free storage starts when it reaches us, so plan around the expected ship dates when you combine several releases.
Packing books so the corners survive
- Choose Extra bubble for hardcovers, box sets and anything with an acrylic standee
- Choose Heavy duty for a large stack or a full series, so the box keeps its shape
- Books are dense: a 300-page paperback is often 300–400 g, so check the calculator on our pricing page before ordering a whole series
Thai books FAQ
Do Thai publishers ship internationally?
Most deliver only within Thailand. Use your ThaiFanShip Bangkok address, or let us buy for you through Buy For Me.
Can you buy a special edition pre-order for me?
Yes, through Buy For Me, as long as we receive your request and payment before the pre-order closes.
Will you check that the extras are included?
Request a photo of the parcel and tell us what to look for. We open the delivery packaging but not shrink-wrapped books or sealed sets.
Do I pay import duty on books?
Many countries do not charge duty on printed books, but rules differ. Standees and other merchandise in the same box may be treated differently, so check your destination's rules.
Why is shipping a series expensive?
Books are heavy for their size. Shipping is priced on weight and box size; consolidating several volumes into one box usually costs less than sending them one by one.
